Door open alarm, (chime) is driving me nuts.

Asked by docspix Dec 08, 2011 at 09:13 PM about the 2006 Ford Escape

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I realize it may be viewed as an important safety feature, but I deliver newspapers every morning, and am constantly getting in and out of the car. When I do, it's just faster for me to leave the transmission in neutral, (as I'm out for only a few seconds). The problem is that incessant chime is not only annoying, but entirely too loud. I have an '06 Escape, and with the exception of the chime, have no complaints.
