Is there a certain time this happens or is it arbitrary? One of the networks did a story regarding car burglaries They showed someone walking down a very congested area while activating a remote ... if they got an audible beep ... they simply found the car and helped them selves BTW ,,,SOME GARMIN GPS HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO ACTIVATE CAR ALARMS.~~~~~http://apps.fcc.go/ecfs/docum/view;jsessionid=F8phPtPTLM9yz1XVYq2bfMnQ2TXfzxYGQspYL1RG7J2mxXTq2sCy!-1221852939!-1969853125?id=7021674976
I have the same issue with my escape, and no the alarm on the FOB is not getting hit by accident...that can be sitting on the table and the alarm goes off, I shut it off and 10 mins later it goes off again. No one is near the car. I have seen a video about this so maybe it will help you... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxowpSibGQg
I’ve been fighting with the alarm issue for years with my 2006 Escape and finally figured out how to get around it. My alarm has been going off obviously with the rise or lowering of the outside temperature and by troubleshooting, its most likely the right rear door latch. I didnt want to waste money replacing it and still have the same problem, or jump the wires to fake out the alarm system while messing with the dome light function so Instead, after driving, i lock the drivers door by pushing the door lock button on the inside of the door manually and the alarm doesnt set. If the alarm is set, i unlock just the drivers door with the key (Not the fob) and push the door lock manually before closing the door. The alarm doesn’t set therefore it doesn't go off in the middle of the night. Personally I’ve never cared about the alarm and really wanted a way to disconnect it completely, but from what I understand that is impossible or extremely technical. Not setting the alarm at all to me is the next best thing. Give it a try
If it is equipped with a dealer installed remote starter, the sensitivity maybe set too high. This would cause it to go off even if a motorcycle goes by. Other than that a scan tool would show all the alarm events, pinpointing the cause.
