Water near battery

Every month i check my battery area. There is always a ton of water. What
can cause this? How do we fix it? This can't be good.

Might want to have a look at the weatherstripping under the hood could be cracked leaking water in the engine compartment. I would load test the battery and make sure that is o.k. as well. Good Luck!

Battery is in the trunk of my hhr. The entire area where spare tire is is damp though.

I think it was weatherstripping. I made a few changes. Hope that fixes the problem. Thank you
