Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car starts up but when i put it in any gear (drive,
reverse, neutral) it doesn't move . I was driving
home from work and then suddenly I feel the car
starting to decelerate while my foot is still on the
acceleration pedal. I turned the car off and on a
couple of times and then it would let me drive and
then slow down again. I didn't want to risk ruining
anything, so I called for a ride and a tow for the car.
The past couple of weeks prior, the engine light
came on and I would get a random timed
messages staying something about the oil
pressure and turning off the car. Please help to
figure out.7
