Is it risky buying a 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 with 88k miles on it? Or are there greater chances ill have to put a lot of money into it?

The truck itself is in good condition. Clean on the outside and inside, no rust
from what I can see. I like the truck a lot i just don't want to buy the truck and
have to put a ton of money into it.

That truck averaged less than 7K miles per year, so it's lightly used. As long as it was well maintained, not rusty, and price is right I'd say you have a winner.
Not if it has been taken care of. We have a 2005 4x4 for use pulling stacks of boat trailers to dealers in neighboring states that has 300k on it now and would not hesitate getting in and going anywhere. Like I said, IF it was taken care of and serviced as it should.
