Could be a loose frame and or motor ground causing the issues.
2012 Equinox Gauges would intermittently go crzy and not work there would be clicking in the shifter and hard shifting. At times the car would not start and 20 minutes latter it would. Replaced battery/fuses etc... problem still persisted. Got to where the car was so unreliable, it sat for 6 months and was just used around the house. FINALLY... I have resolution.. and confirmation as to what was happening.... Passenger side floor board along the door side is a plastic cover where feet can hit and bang up against the plastic cover. Behind the plastic cover is a large cable connector. Mine.... was connected... but not properly seated. When the gauges would go nuts and the car would drive like crap I found I could tap the connector and the problem would stop or start like a switch.... the second I seated the connector properly the engine sounded MUCH stronger, the headlights lit up much brighter and..... i have NEVER seen the problem reoccur. Check your connector at the passenger side floor against the outer wall where the passengers feet can kick easily... its worth i shot. i have seen a million post similar with no answers.. nothing to loose
Tx What do you mean by, "the second I seated the connector properly". How was this done
I reseated the connector. The connector is on the floorboard passenger side. It had become disconnected, although it appeared to be connected. I would try disconnecting the biggest connector (mine is gray with a white latch) and then reconnecting it and ensure the white latch is secured correctly. I hadnt run the Equinox in 8 or 9 months but just cranked it up to make sure its still working.
Hope this works, please reply back with feed back, curious if this helps you.
Just because you dont see corrosion does not mean its not there, replace both negitive and positive battery terminals and and wires bolted on to terminal wire brush secondaries as well as positive that runs to fuse block, there is corosion that you can not see, garentee this is your issues, if not your ignition is shorting out
