Changing oil question plus more questions

Asked by Sherrix2 Jul 27, 2016 at 02:18 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2007 Equinox with 45 k miles. I don't drive
it very much. My change oil soon light has come on.
What are these model set at for oil change 3000 or
5000 miles etc? How long can I safety drive it
before I HAVE to change the oil?
I looking for a job and don't have money right now (
suddenly divorced w children) There is no way I can
pay for anything if something bad were to happen.
In the past I've always gotten the oil changed when
my " change oil soon" light came on. Right now the
light comes on when I start it, but willturn off when I
push the button that shows how many miles I have
driven etc ( in other words, it's not staying on all the
time or does it stay on all the time when it's really
past the change date )

I would change oil at 7,500 miles or 1 year whichever comes first using the recommended grade of name brand oil.
