no spark on my 86 bronco 2

Asked by danderson Aug 02, 2010 at 07:16 PM about the 1986 Ford Bronco II

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i was being a dumb ass and drilled right through my wireing harness and caused a short. i fixed the wires that i cut, used a test light to test the wiring to the starter relay, tfi module and replaced it. tested the coil and the power going to the distributor from the coil. when i would try to start the car the starter relay was making noise too.

Are you getting power to the coil? Did you check the ground(s)? If there is power to the coil, then it's bad if it is not throwing spark.
