call your honda dealership. my dad's did the same thing. its an anti-theft device. give the vin number and they will give u the code. hope i was some help
You need a new battery...hopefully there isn't something wrong with the alternator. You get the code from any honda dealer, just provide them with your VIN number. After you obtain the four digit code, you use the number pad on your radio to enter the code. Everytime you unplug your battery it will ask for this code. The code resets your alarm system on your car. I hope this answered your question. Good luck! Megan
call honda dealership. when the battery dies it resets the cars computer.
go look at the ownel manuel for a code ... if the manuel go to the dealer to get you the code
ya i work at bodyshop we work on lots of those. if you battery dies you'll need to take your accord to the honda dealership and they'll give you a code for your radio and just type it in through the preset digits for your radio and you'll be good to go :)
Yeah taking it to the dealer is about the only way to get the code, but when you do make sure you write it down. I recommend writing it in your owners manual for next time it happens
a lotta times its on a sticker in ur glove box.. if not listen to what everyone else said bout calling the dealer (i had to do it, and after i got off the phone with them i found my code card haha)
u can get delership answer also it could be time to just upgrade excuse 4 better radio
You dont need a new battery, look in the manual, if your the first owner of the car there should be a radio code. if not call honda of america and give them your info and they will provide one for you.
put the code in the radio
k first of all if you know where the car was purchased new you can call that dealership, they are supposed to have those numbers in the new car file. if not, if you dont know---then look in the glovebox, and center console for a little sticker it may say anti theft code on it. CAUTION!!! you only have 5 chances before it locks you out, then you have to unplug battery for like an hour and try again. if you cant find the code and the dealership gives you grief, you can hold the 1 and the 6 button on the stereo (on most models )and write down the numbers, let go of the button and write down the numbers, then call the dealership again with that, they can crossreference the numbers, but you may have to go down there and prove ownership before they give you the code
call any honda dealorship. the code is supposed to be on a card in your manual but mine wasnt there. just give them the serial number on the deck. make sure you keep the number cuz youll need it most every time you have battery probs or you replace the battery.
Hi I sell Honda's! There is a card in your owners manual that gives you the code! If you don't have the card you will have to take the car to a Honda Dealer
WARNING: If you have a Navigation system and do not have power going to the car when you disconnect your battery your Audio and Navigation system will stop working. You will need to re-enter your Audo and Navi codes into the car to get them to operate again. If you've lost them then goto the link below. Getting my codes took me 2 hours because I lost little plastic business card with the codes. I've given instructions on how to get the codes. Link is below. http://leanforeveryone.typepad.com/lean_for_everyone/2010/04/how-to-retrieve-your-audio-and-navigation-system-codes-2004-honda-accord-with-navigation-system.html
The code is on the back of the radio. Just take it out and look at it
What about a 99 Volvo s70
I have a 04 Honda accord I have code it factory navigation. Don't know how to put in code for radio.wat button do I press

Try this: Simultaneously, press 1st, 6th buttons and power. This should bring up code. Then input code.
After you get the car running, qnd the radio is off hold down the 1 and the 6 buttons and while holding the 1 and the 6 buttons turn the radio on, this will display an 8 digit code, call your local Honda service department and tell the the situation and your code, they will give you a 4 digit code that will reset your alarm system and turn your radio back on.
found the code in my owners manual for the 2008 HONDA FIT worked like a charm!! thanks guys!!!
I just had to do this...easy! Either turn motor on or just one click to the accessory. Turn the radio OFF. While holding down the 1 & 6, hit the ON button and wait! DO NOT LET GO of the 1 & 6!! A letter and 4 numbers will come up - TWICE! So you will see a letter and 4 numbers twice. Write this down and call your local Honda dealer. He gave me the code within about 3 seconds. It worked!
it should be in the glove compartment
After my honda accord 2004 had its battery dead bought a new battery my car was ok but my radio wasn't working so i followed steps of getting the code by pressing the reset buttons 1 and 6 got the code entered it and radio was back on however the radio stays on for 2minutes and goes off even when i turn off the engine and turn it back on the radio cant come on like it used to do what can i do please help
Open the glove compartment. I found my code on a sticker on the side of the opened glove department. The code that the dealership gave me had too many digits (5). The code that worked was 4 digits. However, both codes, the one the dealership gave me (5) digits and the 4 digit code were on separate stickers in the glove compartment.
DO HAVE A OWNERS MANUAL MECHANIC AND I CANT FIND THE CARD TO RESET THE RADIO AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED AND THE BATTERY WAS DISCONNECTED AND PUT BACK IN...HE WAS TOO BUSY TO CALL THE DEALER AND IT TOOL 4 DAYS AND I NEEDED MY CAR BACK...SO NOW IM STUCK WITHTHIS PROBLEM TRYING TO FIGURE THIS OUT ON MY OWN...ANY IDEAS???
My car is Honda Accord 1998 I have no book my car is disable how I get the code?
Would the battery being low have anything to do with the transmission shifting
Sure, I got the code easily enough but the radio won't STAY on. It only lasts 2 or 3 minutes. Now what. KJ
If the # code is in the glove box then why do I need to write it down? Just asking
Turn the car off. Then put the car into on. (Dont start the engine. Just full acc on.) Press and hold the radio power button for 2-3 seconds... this should re-engage the radio (if it's the original radio in the car.) I had to do this from a battery replacement today. 2014 honda pilot touring for reference.
By the way.. I bought a new 2014 Honda CRV and discovered the battery goes dead every few days if not driven. Not fun being stranded in a parking ramp at the airport etc. Regardless of how many other people are experiencing this, Honda plays dumb. I purchased a NEW battery. same thing. TODAY, finally, the Honda service dept admitted... it's a problem. if I pay $80 for a test, they will install the 'fix' for another $80. Why should I pay $160 for a KNOWN ISSUE? Next purchase: Toyota.
I put the code in but the cd player did not come back. now what?
I have a question I got a 2012 honda accord had it for 4yrs now I'm replacing a battery for the second time in 4yrs is there issues with the accord battery lines
If you need the code for a Honda radio free, you can get these at www.freehondaradiocodes.com it is brilliant and only requires the serial number.
k first of all if you know where the car was purchased new you can call that dealership, they are supposed to have those numbers in the new car file. if not, if you dont know---then look in the glovebox, and center console for a little sticker it may say anti theft code on it. Look for a sticker inside glovebox for your 4 digit code
