I just bought a 2006 honda accord. Owners manual states to use 5w20 oil. The car dealer sold me a maintenance package that includes oil changes. But said I had to pay extra because my car needs synthetic oil. Car has 160,000 miles. Is there a reason I should be using synthetic? Or is he just trying to get more money out of me?

quite right...synthetic is best when you've been using since the beginning~ YES, give me your money...you got it right~...actually with my MINI cooper they say it's good for 100,000 miles and personally do not feel comfortable without routine "look-see" the levels of everything....the washer will have to be topped off anyways~ as long as there is SOME oil...you are golden~ don't let it drip all over the driveway...fix any leaks...been told that synthetic is so slippery that Leaks occur, but have not witnessed that myself~ stick to what you know and love~ enjoy one of my paintings~
