Ac compressor

Asked by Erin Jul 06, 2019 at 11:16 AM about the 2000 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2000 Honda CR-V. I'm thinking
instead of a leak that I have an issue with
my compressor. After filling my ac last after
winter, it seemed to have stopped being
cold.

Might just be a compromised o ring, let a shop test for leaks, then recharge afterwards. Those $30 DIY recharge kits can be a total waste of money if your system has a leak.

FYI when you are low on refrigerant (due to a leak) your compressor can cycle on and off continuously when AC is on. People tend to think it's a bad compressor, but it's not, it's just low on refrigerant.
