Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've been smelling gas in my oil. and
just recently  engine sound like a
diesel engine. just had to replace the
fuel filter. once I get it started it
starts every day and runs just great,
but seems to lack of power and uses
a lot of gas.

fuel pressure regulator is bad. Don't run it like this very long it will spin the rod bearings. Change oil and filter when you replace the regulator. ASAP

Or the ECT is bad. coolant temp. sensor. Is the check engine light on? Pull the vacuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator and see if gas runs out. If it does it's bad.
