How much should a head on a Chevy S10 cost if it is cracked? Yr 2001

4 Cylinder Mechanic says there is antifreeze in the oil and suspects head is cracked. We have a brand new radiator. Sorry I don't know what engine model it is. Can you give me a ball park figure what a new head should cost??

So it would be the 2200. If it is the head. It's very hard to tell with out pulling it apart and inspecting the parts. Could be the head, head gasket, block, etc. For labor rates the best thing to do would be to call around and get quotes from local shops and compare prices. The head is 303 with a 110 core on rockauto, then you need gaskets and seals for the top end. It's not cheap. Even if its just the head gasket he still has to pull the head to change it.
