not getting fuel sometimes

can be going down the road and all of a sudden no fuel then after a few
seconds it kicks back in and its fine. keeps doing it every once in a while.
replaced fuel filter and fuel pump. 1 mechanic looked at it and could not figure it
out. check engine light does not come on

I would suspect the fuel pump relay.
