The 2005 Ford Mustang uses the MacPherson strut. There are many DIY sites where you can find guides on how to replace the struts. Here is one: http://www.diynetwork.com/diy/ab_suspension/article/0,2021,DIY_13695_3065124,00.html It talks about the front strut a little more than half way down.

You may want to get a manual for the year's mustang
Autoguy is right. A Haynes repair manual can be your best friend if anything else comes up too. They cost $10-20 and are available at book stores and auto parts stores.
