Fuel pump

Your Mustang and most other gasoline cars have only one fuel pump and it is in the gas tank. They might have two or more listings but you only need one pump. Diesels have a transfer fuel pump, and an injector pump, but not the Mustang. Some trucks have two fuel tanks and two fuel pumps, but again, not the Mustang. Have the parts guy pull up a picture of a Mustang gas tank. Where would the second pump go? It won't/doesn't. Also, check your fuel pump fuse, inertia switch and relay if the pump can not be heard priming up when the key is turned on. If it runs, check filter, and fuel regulator. Tell us what you find.
I certainly appreciate your help. But my car absolutely does have a two fuel pumps.

To see what you have, you can drop the gas tank and apply a 12 volt current to the each pump individually and see which one doesn't run and then replace it. If these fuel pumps are both located in the tank, don't remove any until they are tested. My girlfriend's 1998 Mustang had only one fuel pump. Only a Ford would have two and if they're in the tank, they would probably be identical.
AutoZone employees are car repair experts? NOT!
Like I said the gas tank goes from side to side and the drive line goes right underneath it causing a hump in the gas tank hence the two fuel pumps.
No definitely not experts. But every place I go shows that it has to pumps.
I have actually figured it out. Thank you so much for your time today. Hope you have a great weekend.
So how many pumps did it have?
you dont have to drop the tank- the drivers side pump is the main pump.. its a saddle tank- with access ports under the rear seat.the passenger side is just a level sensor and possibly transfer pump depending on the system it has.
