Truck starts runs for two minutes then dies

Asked by Candice May 24, 2015 at 08:27 AM about the 1994 Chevrolet S-10

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I can start the truck. I can drive it for aboUT
two minutes then it dies and won't start
back up for a couple minutes. Its a problem
that has gotten worse and worse. It started
out driving for twenty or thirty mins at a
time and now its progressed to this Over a
course of three weeks. New battery starter
was tested and so was the alternator. Im
not sure what the problem is.

Is the truck choking out (like sputter and dies) or does it just quietly shut down?

Its most likely that the alternator is bad and you are running off the battery. When the battery dies or drains out, the truck will roll to a stop. Hope this is helpful !
