Hello arkiegirl95-- I've heard of this happening before with Chevy engines. If it goes right away as the car warms up you probably have more of an annoyance than a long term problem. Beyond that it could be a bearing, the oil pump, the throttle sensor, an oil leak or maybe sticky fuel injectors- who knows? That is something for a skilled mechanic to take a look at in person. The mechanic will help you decide on the proper course of action. Good luck from Bovan.

when cold the lifters some times stick i have a red chevy 1500 ext cab does the same thing u can put an addative called seafolm put in the crank case and the knocking should go away
it could be that u mite need a oil change....change the viscosity of the oil....add some oil...a labor knock....or the lifters....thats the order that i would check it out in...
I would deffinantly say it is a lifter knock, sometimes happens with the older Chev. trucks.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE RUNNING 10-30 / ESPECIALLY IF YOU LIVE IN A COLD CLIMATE AS YOUR OIL SOUNDS LIKE TOO THICK OF A GRADE. DAN INFIELD
I KNOW YOU HAVE DONE THIS BUT THE BREAK PADS WORN OR STICKING - BREAK CYLINDER - BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.
lifters and dont listen to gdi1952, 10w-30 is still too viscous for cold climates, you want 5w-30
My 98 Chevy 1500 used to do that to, i switched to a synthetic oil and the knock disappeared, hope that helps
