What Engine sizes can i put in a 1990 Chevy C1500?

im looking to swap out to a crate/reman engine but what will fit (not looking to
twist the chassis on launch) but power is the main reason for the swap plus
old engine has been put through the paces by previous owner, also would the
rear dif need to be changed?

Your choice of any Chevy V8 engine, it really just depends on the size of the checkbook. Engine swaps take a lot of thought. Manifolds, Engine mounts, Assy Brackets ect ect. The nice thing about the truck you have is the engine compartment is huge and will make the transformation easy.
Big block engine will fit and give you a lot of torque. A 502/502hp motor might be what you want.
Lsx swap. Put the 6.0 vortec in it. 5.3 wouldn't be bad either

You can install Chevy big block and small block engines in a 89 Chevy Silverado. How big of a big block is dependent on the size of your wallet.

Yes there both tbi enines should plu and play pretty much 87 through 95 they were the same thing as long as they were tbi the tune port engine is way different
