replace radio 2002 corolla
The radio/CD player on my 2002 Corolla has a messed up volume knob.
Something inside is not connecting properly (I can feel looseness). When I
turn the knob, it varies between super loud, super quiet, silence, and
crackles.
Questions:
1. If I take it out, is it possible to open the casing and look at the
connections? Could I possibly fix this?
2. I see one for sale on ebay, listed as for 2002-2008 Corolla. Replacing
should be easy enough, I think. But the listing says, "Parts 1998 and newer
may need to be reprogrammed by a dealer." Is this necessary? How much
would it cost?
Any additional tips or advice welcome! (My experience level is moderately
experienced beginner.)
Thank you.
