Asked by Nathan May 15, 2018 at 04:50 PM about the 2000 Toyota Corolla

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 corolla 1.8 engine will not stay running. codes 0171, and misfires on all
cylinders. Timing chain was replaced and problem is worse, car was almost
driveable before. 125psi compression on each cylinder. sprayed carb cleaner
while engine was running and could not find any vacuum leaks. on initial
startup when cold engine will rev up around 2k rpm smoothly, then drops
down and eventually dies, car will barely stay running after that and will not
accelerate rpm
