2000 echo 2 dr [automatic]

would like to get roof rack system for the car; anyone have one installed on theirs?  
research shows they are EXPENSIVE! want to get the best deal, & CORRECT system;
as they vary widely between models... [ours is a smooth roof top 2 dr]  want to haul 2
kayaks; & @ times various other things that WONT fit in trunk-even w/the back seats
down..thanks in advance!

Be careful about the way it anchors, the thumb-screw clamps on the roof gutter are not as good as drilling permanent anchors, and they do not damage the car. They just are permanent. If you want a rack you can remove when not in use you can still use the permanent anchors, and a kayak really catches the wind, and use straps not rope. I do not mean to talk to you like you know nothing, it sorta seemed that way when I re-read my post. Happy kayaking!
