Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The engine died while I was driving. And from there

When the engine was running...did you notice any warning lights on or flashing? What engine and transmission in this vehicle? Mileage?

The engine is 2200 si the is the orange engine light with rear lights problem indication below it. Can that affect the engine.

Suggest you check the engine oil level. Does the oil smell like gasoline. If yes ...do not start the engine. It would be nice to scan the computers for codes...but....absent of scan tool....I would check for spark at the spark plug wires. Also check the wiring harness in the TRUNK of the vehicle at the Left Hinge ....driver side...area. See if there any breaks in any of the wiring...or...bare wire rubbing together. Get back with results.

Its now 21:45 where I am, the oil level is okay and no gasoline smell. I didn't get the chance to check the wires though it was dark. Will check tomorrow

Ok....usually a problem with a distributor will result in a no spark to the the s.p. and thus a crank but no start. Some folks replace the entire dist......we prefere to test the components inside and replace what we find faulty. Well, good luck with that repair. Get back to us with updates.
