Hi all, I have a question-
I was driving home from work about 5 weeks ago
and noticed my car was smoking but I was only
around the corner from home, so when I got home
a noticed a crack in the radiator and when I was
checking everything else I noticed my oil was dry (I
know I know I'm stupid), anyway I topped
everything up I took it to my mechanics down the
road he replaced the radiator and a week or so later
my head gasket seal? (I think that's the name of it).
Anyway my radiator fluid keeps going down, about
a week and a half ago I had to top it up with coolant
around 500mls then a few days ago with another
200mls.
There's no milky substance in the oil and there's no
radiator fluid on the ground and my car is driving
like it's normal self.
Have a cracked something still or what could be
going on?

Its (coolant) going out the tail pipe. It will get worse. Head gasket. Need head resurfaced or replaced with head not warped. Warped head happens from running hot. Head likely if reused will need rebuilt or you also have a oil leak somewhere. Cracked radiator is enough to run it hot, however low oil may have have induced the issue and pressures built up. It of course would be wise to have the head pressure tested before reusing.
