What makes you think the vehicle is overheating? Might be a bad radiator cap
OK...what we usually do now that we see "water coming out"...is...we try to determine exactly were the leak is. We fill-er up and then pressure test the cooling system ......get under the vehicle with a good strong light...and look. We check the water pump....hoses.....head gaskets...seals and plugs...radiator cap....heater.....the thermostat would have to be removed and tested. We also do a "touchy feely" test to check for blockages. Where would you like to start?
on top of the radiator on the housing there seems to be cracks appearin put sealin on it worked for a few kz then more cracks appeared new radiator cap so anymore hints would be more than welcome
question number 2 if I take the themo out do I have to replace it like the old fords back in da 80z yu cold drive round without a thermostat
Ok...where ever there are cracks....replacement parts are required. Since you have a 1996 vehicle....a good used part from a junk yard may be appropriate Consider shopping around for Parts. If you can send a picture of these "cracks"...we may be able to provide more advice. Running with out a thermostat and a lower pressure radiator cap is Old School...and ...indeed it worked for awhile. Eventually....a correct fix is required. Let us know how you make out...
Kiwi....did you ever fix the problem with this vehicle?
