i am trying to set the timing but mark won t stay still

the car was down for over a month to replace head gaskets and the timing belt I set it to TDC with the camshaft also.I have no alarms. it runs but not smooth

well, first, if its the 22re 4 cyl. dont worry about timin to much. They never sound pretty. Also, set it while its hot

you need to use a jumper wire and jum te1 to e1 in the diagnostic conector under the hood. also if you took the crank pulley off make sure you get it back on the keyway and tourque it to 180ftlbs. if it has a miss the timing mark will jump around or if you mixed up some of the vacum lines it will not run good and then the mark will jump around
