Leaking from the lower portion of the windshield washer pump????

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This morning I noticed a leaking fluid coming from the underside of the vehicle. Upon closed inspection it was coming from the lower front right side ( as you sit in the truck ). The color was blue which is the same as the windshield washer liquid.

Is there a gasket that fails and needs to be replaced or is it typically the plastic bottle that holds the fluid that needs to be replaced?

Hi BadBoy, It could just be the fitment of the plastic container. I would also check the clamps and hoses for fitment. Replace hoses as necessary. There shouldn't be any gaskets that are used. Something could have come loose. Goodl luck!

I have a 92 4runner. There is a rubber gromet that goes into the plastic tank and then the motor or pump goes into the gromet. Toyota has them but I havn't got around to getting them. There are two of them. One for front and one for rear. If you pull the tank you will see what I'm talking about. Let me know if you find them after market.
