1991 Toyota 4Runner - Hot start Problem

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When cold, engine runs OK.
When hot, will only barely start to idle for 30 seconds then die.
If sprayed with carb cleaner, engine will run good until I stop spraying, unless I continue spraying for about 15 seconds, then engine runs normal.
What do you think?

maybe over heating? or bad head gasket letting pressure out. possiable worped head.

Engine never overheats and runs fine always. Engine will only not start when it is hot. Similar to vapor lock. If fuel/starter fluid is sprayed into intake for 15 seconds, engine runs fine and you can continue to drive until you leave engine off for around 15 minutes. Engine is a 3 Liter V-6, around 160,000 miles.

Unfortunately I'm only posting to voice a similar issue. 90 Toyota pickup 424000km 3 liter fuel injected. never have an over heating issue or fuel delivery issue while running. Vehicle fires up with first turn of the key if it's been sitting for any longer then 20 minutes. has intermittent starting issue when starting hot. Seems like a vapor lock, going to investigate the ignition coil as suggested by mechanic friend. He said it might be over heating
