Re-chrome or new parts

So I called a company to get an estimate on getting some parts chromed. The cost to re-chrome the parts was more than buying completely new parts from Ecklers. They also said it would take up to 4 months to complete. Any advice or ideas on good places for chrome near chicago?

i would try a few different companies for comparison. the new parts may look good but there made cheap, i had my GTO bumpers rechromed a few years ago ,it took about 3-4 weeks. i'm not sure but i think they were shipped to new jersey. there are only a handful of states that still do chrome, because of the chemicals involved. or try bumperboyz.com
Yeah, like Rucko said, most aftermarket chrome parts are foreign outsourced so they are not top quality. I'd prefer to keep my original parts & have them chromed by a reputable shop as both the original part & chrome finish will be a far better quality. It will be more expensive for custom plating, but you get what you pay for. I live in MT & there is a quality shop that I use only 30 miles away, they are located in Helena, MT-Decorative Industrial Plating. There turn around time is usually within a month, give them a try!
