Camry 88 engine

Asked by Haydar Jul 09, 2015 at 09:58 AM about the 1988 Toyota Camry

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

My Camry 1988 2.0 has reached 260,000 miles, and it is in a great condition. However, I wanted to know if a 'new engine' option is still available for this car, or I will have to re-build/purchase a used one? I always replace the parts with original ones, don't like used parts though. Thanks.

Just do a rebuild on it- new rings, bearings valves etc.- or you could check into those low mileage JDM engines that are sold over here in the US because Japan requires mandatory replacement leaving a lot of low mileage engines looking for homes-
