i broke the switch houseing on steering colim put in new switch got power on
accesery but wont start

Sounds like you need a wiring diagram for the make/model/year for this vehicle. Absent of said wiring diagram....I think there might be one of Toyota's famous bolt in fuses that blew. Did you create any sparks when you replaced that switch?
