were cloth seats an option ?

Swanlake- Those cloth seats were standard equipment on all the Corvette's back then. They might not have built many that way but it did give Chevrolet and their dealers a way to advertise a car "from. . .with no money down." Leather added an extra $1,050 to the price. There are no statistics readily available, but I am sure most people dug a little deeper into their wallets and went with the leather. Good luck from Bovan.
I have a 90 with cloth seats. They were standard equipment. Turns out that they wound up being more rare, as most everyone opted for leather. Only 640 had cloth seats in 90.
I ordered my new 84 with the extra cost cloth seats because it was the only way to get the power lumbar option and moveable power side bolsters. To me it was worth it. The slippery leather seats didn't hold you in place very well. The cloth was nicer in winter too. I lived in Chicago at the time. They held up quite well. I only had one wear spot on the upper side bolster of the driver seat after about 50,000 miles
