can you put a r22 motor in the 1976 corolla

Hello corean808-- My own personal guru, Tom Fahy of the Newton Street Garage, says you can put almost any engine into almost ay car so long as it fits in the engine compartment. Hopefully the motor mounts will line up, which will make things easier for you. Be warned that you will have some custom wiring and modified fittings connecting to the transmission waiting for you. a r22 motor fits easily in the compartment cause its alittle bigger than the 2tc and the mounts are the same it mounts directly to the tranny but is a fuel-injection engine making for some wiring issues i am the guru on old skool rollas bro if you give a broud answer you give no help to people.

I believe the 22r won't fit because the engine is too tall for the hood. you just have to do some measurement once the old motor is out. Measure from the center of the crackshaft on both motors to find the difference
