Price?

Asked by Austneal Feb 08, 2009 at 11:02 AM about the 1989 Toyota Celica

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I was looking at the page for the 89 Toyota Celica, and it says MSRP: $12,478 - $20,878. Does this mean my 89 Celica (its in really good condition) is worth at least 12,000? By the way, i have a GT convertable with an automatic transmission. I couldnt find it to select it. I heard the automatic convertables were rare, but i wasnt sure.
Thanks,
Austneal

Sadly, no. It's probably worth about $2,000 if you're lucky and it's in super shape. MSRP stands for Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price, and means just that —- a suggested selling price for the retailer ... when it was originally at a dealership.. in 1989. To determine the resale value of your car, try the Kelley Blue Book Values website: http://www.autoweb.com/content/Research/KBB/index.cfm/action/selectMake/valuetype/PP/Year_si/1989 You have to option of assessing your car's realistic trade-in value and its private sale value using this site. Hope this helps!
