I +always thought the difference was the hubcaps. I went online and looked at 59 and 60 Corvettes to see if there were any subtle differences. Funny, but I saw a lot of the same cars in both years. I know it at time has been her for not Corvette enthusiast to tell them apart, now that you brought it up, from the pictures shown on line, there how appears not to be any. Sometimes it a decal, mirror, trim or chrome strip, or exhausts, or just hubcaps, but going on line did not help.

Wheels were painted black under the wheel covers in 1959. In the following year they were painted to match the body color I found this a few years ago. I get pictures of early vettes by the dozen on Pinterest but it is hard to see if there are rims painted the same colors. I have seen some 1960's that you could see the painted rims. Of course a lot don't have factory wheels. I can't tell if this is true or not but it does seem to be so.Of course a lot have been painted different colors than the factory. This is something to consider. I had a 1958 vette in the early 1960's- It one of those rare powerglides..s.bought it cheap and converted to manuel
