my 1988 Chevy caprice classic won't start

Tried jumping it tried adjusting starter
Could it really be my fuel pump? I started it up last
night  but now every time I try and turn it over it
clicks  then I try again and nothing

So did it start when you jumped it? If it did then it could just have been a weak battery. A bad fuel pump won't keep an engine from cranking. If your engine is not cranking and you get a single click then nothing, then the problem is likely with the starting circuit. Get the battery checked first then go through starter circuit.

Your ignition switch just drop steering column look for purple wire make sure alls tights and maybe just change the switch
