oil recommendations

Asked by jenerator Jan 13, 2007 at 08:45 PM about the 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

what are the manufacturers recommendations for oil weight/viscosity

1 Answer

Hello, Because your car is an older car, the type of oil depends on the mileage and climate at which you live. I would recommend going to a site such as http://www.valvoline.com and entering in your car information and seeing what they recommend. While 10w30 is the typical oil for a 1989 Cavalier, it might not be the best for your car right now. Best of luck! CarGrrl
