1964 Chevy Impala (export model)

I have an opportunity to pick up a 1964 Chevy Impala with right hand drive , My Question is,Is this something the factory did in 1964 or was it aftermarket .I heard in late 50s and early 60s they were making export models with RH drive also is this car worth anything Mark

I personally have a 1962 Chevy so I know a little bit about this area. Yes chevy did make RHD export models. I have seen in person a 1957 Bel-Air that was RHD model for Australia. I spoke with the owner and he told me that all RHD models were made in the Oshawa Ontario plant which makes sense to me considering Canada is part of the British Empire and RHD cars would most likely go to those countries. General Motors Chevrolet Motor Division built fully assembled export RHD Chevrolet Impala for the various worldwide export markets and also CKD or 'completely knocked down' RHD Chevrolets that were exported to RHD counties where they were assembled using in some cases local glass and interior trim. Export RHD Chevrolets were offered until at least 1970. Australia received CKD Chevrolet Belair 4 door sedans and from 1965 RHD impala Sport Sedans (4 door hardtops). RHD Impala 4 door hardtops prior to 1965 were exported to Australia, but in very limited numbers. For example fewer than 150 '62 Impala Sport Sedan were exported to Australia during 1962.
