Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I am dealing on a 69 Impala 4dr Hardtop with factory Air and pwr windows - 327 2Brl - Automatic. Owner says it is quite rare and very few were made with factory air. Car has minor rust - mostly surface - nothing through. I looked down sides and it is straight as an arrow - My dad had one just like it and I was thinking of restoring it. I checked the numbers and they all match. The interior looks good - headliner is perfect -He wants 5 grand - is it rare or is it pretty just another 69 4dr.

Classic Autotrader...there are some 2 doors going for a touch more. Just depends on what you want.

If you like a four door and everything else on the car is good, offer him 4,500.00 cash....
If the haggle price gets to what you are willing to pay for it, that is the price. If not, look on line and find what you want for the price you want. These were boats, more like tug boats and the one with the automatic transmission was also a slug tug. To get it up and funning where you will like it, expect to spend between $15,000 of a so so good rebuild, to $30,000 for a very good near top job. That is not counting the price you paid for it.
Don't get me wrong. This car fixed up, they are a great car on the eyes. Built strong and if it is in good shape, not too costly to fix. If you want original, it will cost more, but a very nice custom job, good interior gauges, paint and the right tires and rims, will be a show stopper. Have fun and enjoy.
