Question type: Shopping & Pricing
I'm looking at buying a 1970 Chevy Impala, 2 door, 82,000 original miles, hardtop and the asking price is $5,000. Is this a good deal?

5,000 doesn't sound like a bad deal if the car is in good condition. I typically spend less than $3500 on older cars when I buy them, though.
Check NADA Guides (available online). They list classic car values. Without looking it up, I'd say that's a good deal. Is it a sport coupe or Custom coupe (with the more formal roofline). The Custom coupe has front disc brakes standard and is the most desirable after the convertible.
ok let me just say those guys are off ther rockers... come on guys it a 1970 impala... its a freaking classic and is only going to go up in price.. restore the thing to cherry and make like 25.000 profit.. or sup it up to make a car that makes the girls wet there pants when you drive by.. agian it all boils down to the bulge in your pants.. you don't have to be good lookinig to own a sweet ride and score some tale.. remember... mid life crisis is just around the corner, and the young tale is looking better and better every day.. do by it and go get some

Don't know what part of the country your in , but here in the Midwest, the transmission support and frame mounts for it rotted out on many a 65-70 full sized Chevy because of road salt. Make sure the frame is not rotted if you are located where this may be an issue.
