how many 71's were made with vents on the back and front of the trunk and hood

Hello, I don't know if I am understanding your question correctly, but I do not believe that any 1971 Impalas had vents on their trunks. CarGrrl

all 71s had the ventelation system, they all had vents on hood & trunk...

You're exactly right Charles,all full size GM cars had the vents on the upper part of the trucks.

Th whole line of GM B -body and C- body car’s used flow through ventilation exiting through the louvres in their trunk lids. As of 1972, the vents were moved to the trailing edge of the door openings in the front of the rear quarter panels.
