I am looking for a reliable source for decoding the VIN for a 1979 Malibu Coupe. Can anyone help?

I specifically need help to decode the engine portion but I would appreciate confirmation on the whole VIN if possible.

Available motors in Malibus in 1979: 200 V6 (95 HP), 231 (3.8L) V6 (105 HP), 267 V8 (125 HP), 305 V8 (140 HP), 350 V8 (165 HP) If its a v6, its most likely a 231. If its a V8 with a two barrel carb, its a 267. If its a v8 with a four barrel carb its a 305. I highly doubt its a 350. Factory 350 78-81 malibus are rare
