Hello hd2003-- Chevrolet discontinued the four-speed transmission for the 1972 model year for their Monte Carlos. A three-speed manual transmission was standard and a two-speed automatic was available on the base 350 engine. The three-speed hydramatic transmission was an available option with the base engine and was required for any of the engine upgrades. Good luck from Bovan.

Hello hd2003 the 4 speed wasn't an option in 72 but could still be special ordered. From the Arlington TX plant only.
