yes it will fit BUT you will have to modify the heater /AC box and use OEM style corvette rocker cover on the drivers side for clearance to your brake booster diaphram . I'd recommend mounting the radiator on the front side of the core support that way you can use a fairly thick core and a stock belt driven fan ... electric fans will work fine if you got bucks and common sense to install . the cow induction hood is the only way to go there , BIG BLOCKS LOVE TALL INTAKES ... free HP . I'd go with old school 400 turbo hydramatic just because it's BULLITPROOF and it will break the tires loose every time it shifts if built correctly .. 3000 rpm stall on the converter should be plenty to beat street freaks, 4500 RPM will stand it up on back wheels for a hundred feet with slicks .. yes big blocks are FUN ,EXPENSIVE , AND HEAVY BUT .... it's the only thing close to a 426 HEMI

by the way , you do not need 500 hp , you need 500 FT LBS of torque ... 1970 LS-5, 454 -- 400 HP with 500 FT LBS and you get gas mileage for free ... mine got 19mpg in a '75 monte with 2.73 gears and still ran close to 100 mph / qtr mile ... top end was ....... yea 168 mph yes it sucked the hood up at the hinges ... use pins
