where is the vin number tag?

Asked by Smitty Feb 02, 2007 at 07:55 PM about the 1965 Chevrolet Suburban

Question type: General

I have looked high and low for the vin number tag. I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where the tag is located?

Hello Smitty-- Chevrolets for those years had the identification tag on the left front body hinge pillar directly below the upper door hinge. Good luck from Bovan.

Hi bovan, and all, I have a 1995 Astro conversion van, do you know where my VIN tag would be? trying to register it in another country, they could only find the usual VIN tag on the dash in the usual place but not on the body! thanks so much...

It should be on the vehicle info panel on the drivers side door itself below the latch. Because it's a conversion van im not 100% on that

ok, thank you.. i checked all around the drivers door and frame, and the only thing thats there is a paper sticker from the factory, lists all the info about the van weight, etc etc including the VIN.. but this is only an old paper sticker, i imagined i am looking for another metal tag like the one one the dash? thanks again..
