where ia the fuse box located?

You don't mention the year of Corvette in your question. Older (pre-80's) Vettes are most likely located up under the dash area on the driver's side. Don't know when they switched to blade-type fuses but in the late '70s they were still using glass tube fuses, so it won't look like a fuse box that you're used to seeing.
