I have a 1977 ford f150 with a 351 engine in it. It dies sometimes and has trouble starting again, as if fuel isnt getting to the carborator. I have replaced the tank, fuel pump, fuel filter at engine and behind pump. what could be the problem? I am a frustrated 17 year old wanting to know how to fix his truck

i remember that year truck use to have what is called a vapor lock which means the gas is dissipating before it reaches the carb so some where near your gas lines there is a heat source causing. Lines could be to close to exhaust manifold

Have you check the carb? Is fuel being delivered there? You could have carb problems. Begin checking there and work yourself backward.

check the float in your carb. it may be saturated with fuel. you cam buy a float scale or simply press your finger nail into the side of the float (carefully)and if its bad youll see fuel pooling on the float, check you needle and seat too.

it probably wouldn't hurt to check the fuel pump relay AND the fuse either, providing that on a 77 model those things are provided. I cannot see why they would not be BUT I am not familiar with those years. In fact, I would have replaced all of that as soon as I bought it or took over rights to the vessel. good luck
