I need to know what engine i have in my 1985 ford f150 4x4

i have a 1985 ford f150 4x4 ive been told its a heavy half ton because of the factory overloads and duel shocks and running lighs on the cab but its a carburated engine with an automatic transmission and i dont know how to find out if its a 351 or a 302 ? i know i can go by the casting numbers on the block but how do i find out what they mean ?

Just look at the 8th digit of the VIN. This tells engine size. A dealer or auto parts store can tell you what this digit decodes to.

there should be a sticker under the hood (originally) that has the engine size on it. it would also probably have the spark plug gap on it and the year information. and would have the size in liters --5.0 or 5.8L. my truck also has the engine size stamped onto the intake manifold.

hopefully no one has swapped the egine .. but if you look, there should be an engine ID Label on the right side valve cover ..

the rad suport shuld have a sticker on it theat is haw you find out it will tell you
