when driving down the road with foot on the gas my truck slows down by its self and when i
press the gas to make it speed back up it acts like it doesnt want to go, plus theres a smell of
burning rubber and now it deosnt want to crank up anyone know what the problem is?

burning rubber smell,sounds like their is a short in wireing.

WHAT ENGINE IS IN IT ? AUTO OR MANUAL TRANS AND IS THE RPM MOVING UP AS YOU HIT THE GAS LIKE DOES THE ENGINE SOUND FINE BUT ITS JUST NOT OING OR DOES THE ENGINE NOT REPSOND TO THE PEDLE? NOW YOU SAY IT WONT CRANK UP DO YOU MEAN CRANK NO START OR NO CRANK AT ALL?
Your ignition module is probably overheating. If I remember correctly,(and I may not) you have the large fender mounted module box. When they start to go bad or short out they will heat up the rubber vibration isolator inside mudule casing causing your smell. The spark plugs will be firing at a lower than normal voltage causing your power loss. The short in the module would account for a dead battery and not cranking over due to parisitic power loss from the shorted module. hope this helps. p.s. have the module tested before throwing the money into it the are a little pricey.
