dual fuel tanks

I stated the question to give an answer!! There is a VERY easy fix - to eliminate the dual tank switch. I looked every-where on the internet to see what it would take to eliminate the switch. If one tank or the switch is bad - you could eliminate the switch. Just pull off the plastic clips (I did it with a screw-driver - tried to use the device NAPA sold me - screw driver works better) - and put two filters in to connect up the good tank direct to the the High Pressure pump line/return line. The return line has 5/16 inch connectors, the fuel line has 3/8 inch connectors - so get two barrel filters with that size connections - again put the plastic locking clips back - and Wiz Bang - you are connected. Now I should say that NAPA said you cannot put a filter in the return line - I ignored their comment and did it anyway - works great. Obviously you could maybe maybe blow the contents out of that filter (but some might remain and plug up the line or tank) - or you could look for line connectors to re-hook the return line - maybe Ford has line connectors to hook up the return lines.
